Next Steps

All:

Leaving momentarily for my first chemo treatment in Philadelphia. Yes, I'm anxious about what's ahead over the next few months, but I'm bouyed by Team Peggy--the love and encouragment of friends like you. I'm taking you with me. Thank you all for being there. Love, Peggy

Peggy and I go back a few years, to the days we worked together at Bloomfield College. Fortunately, she and I have made the effort to stay in touch and remain friends, and that friendship is one that I treasure.

I was completely taken aback when I received Peggy's reply to my recent email. We have been out of touch for awhile, and she's been on my mind so I sent her an update and was excited to see a quick reply. The news about her illness hit me hard ~ and saddened me greatly.

But then I had the good luck to be able to speak with Peggy, and within a few minutes, we were back to just having 'one of our talks,' she with her usual good humor and common sense, me with updates on the family and BC, etc.

Peggy ~ do you remember the card I sent you in your early years at BC, the one with the hole in the roof? This is just another hole, and as the sky and stars became visible as a result of the hole in the roof, I am certain that many wonders will reveal themselves to you as a result of this setback.

Your strength, intelligence and good humor have gotten you through crises before and they'll do the same this time.

I know you'll love the barge trip!

xx
Lois
